Registered charity

TAC-Q is a registered charity, non-profit all volunteer organisation that has been operating for over 10 years and caters for teenagers with life threatening illnesses. The highlight of every year is the week long adventure camp that brings the teenagers together to experience an adventure of a life time.

The teenagers are challenged, inspired and motivated to participate in absolutely unforgettable activities and leave knowing that they can achieve anything they set their minds to.

Origins
Teenage Adventure Camps originated in Tasmania (TAC-T). A wonderful Rotarian by the name of Quentin Hughes noticed a need for a charity to cater for teenagers with life threatening illnesses living in country Tasmania, to be brought together and to participate in joint activities. After being involved with and seeing the success of TAC-T since 1993, a group of residents of the Gold Coast decided that this was the type of group they would like to be involved with and assist. Since 1995, over 400 Campers have attended with over 200 carers.

Who is it for?
The camp is arranged for teenagers suffering from Cystic Fibrosis, Muscular Dystrophy, Cerebral Palsy, various forms of Cancer, and other illnesses and provides them with the experience of living with their peers, establishing friendships and the realisation they are not alone with their misfortunes.
